In 1983, needing £25 to buy a ticket to see David Bowie, I entered the retail world. In a strange twist of fate, I ended my retail career with my other idol.

In 2017 I decided to start Instagram.. to feature my bags & shoes plus a love of vintage fashion and jewellery. The name CHIC50STYLE was a twist on my love of vintage 1950s and being in my 50s
Morning selfie style
In 2020, my life changed drastically. Like many others, the COVID-19 virus had a huge impact on the retail industry and the city. I ended up on furlough twice, which was quite unexpected for me. I have never had more than 2 weeks off work in my life, and since I don't have children, I've never even taken maternity leave. With a heavy heart, I decided to step away from it all, to prioritize more family time and finally enjoy some freedom.
