Restyle October

I’m reassessing my wardrobe. What new additions do I need, and what can I continue to wear? I'm wearing slingbacks and boots in the same week, and the unpredictable London weather presents a wardrobe challenge I need to embrace.

While out shopping in October, I revisited some of my favourite clothing items and gave them a fresh look by pairing them with summer flats, as the weather was still warm. Although the stores were tempting, I realized that my wardrobe is already full. I don't really need anything new, but I can still enjoy window shopping.

I carefully went through my wardrobe and picked out items that would be great for transitioning between seasons. This old faux fur wrap always seems to work well. There are certain pieces that are versatile and can be worn all year round, so there's no need to follow trends that go out of style quickly.

I purchased this sweater about 10 years ago. The pom-poms were a nightmare, constantly falling off or getting caught. I stashed it away at the end of the season in a vintage Birkin bag. To my surprise, I found it last year, as I had assumed I had donated it. I styled it with Miu Miu shoes and my Aspinal bag, and I love how this look turned out. Mixing old and new creates a refreshingly elegant style.

A carefully chosen statement shoe or boot has the power to transform an entire outfit. The LK Bennett coat is intentionally left open, adding an effortlessly chic touch to the ensemble. You might be wondering why I've held onto it for so long. Well, back in 2000, during my time as the store manager at LK Bennett in Covent Garden, I diligently saved my wages and took advantage of my staff discount to make this timeless purchase. Although I regret giving away the matching skirt in a moment of impulse, the coat serves as a delightful reminder of the joyous times I experienced during that period.

Reviving my wardrobe without a complete overhaul, I recently dusted off my timeless Prada t-bar shoes, purchased back in 2004 from Matches in Wimbledon. Pairing them with my Cos trousers, the ensemble exuded effortless elegance. The pièce de résistance was undoubtedly the vintage belt, breathing new life into the entire look. Each item I wore was at least a decade old, but through creative restyling, they came together to create a captivating and utterly unique outfit.

Year after year, the timeless black roll-neck makes its comeback. I possess 5 of them in various thicknesses and shapes, and they are an absolute wardrobe essential. Every wardrobe contains basic elements, and this is my top pick because it can be layered, paired with denim, looks stunning with beige, and is a winner with all my costume necklaces. It serves as the foundation for so many of my winter looks.

A checkered coat or trench is an absolute must-have. Whether dressed up or down, they exude classic chic. Timeless, effortless elegance without even trying. This coat from Jaeger always feels and looks amazing.

"The Teddy coat: Fashion that brings joy, like a warm, comforting teddy bear hug. Practical and stylish, it holds sentimental value as it belonged to my mother. Tailored beige trousers are versatile year-round, as are white and cream. Classic cashmere knits create luxurious layers. In August, I paired this knit with shorts for charming evening strolls in Devon."

.I'm wrapping up the blog with my newest obsession: vibrant, colourful gloves. Sometimes, a bold burst of colour or a stylish accessory has the power to uplift your spirits and captivate your attention most positively.
