Trashy or Trendy
It is one of the most controversial trends appearing in various forms every season. Leopard print which started with coats and jackets then trim on collars & cuffs is now available to buy for every part of the body. Royalty to red carpets It is both admired as plush and sophisticated or downgraded to cheap and tacky.
but it’s really about how you dare to wear it.
Fashion history
Leopard print roared into prominence in the late 1930s but its popularity soared in the 1940s due to the Hollywood stars who were seen both on and off the screen in the print. Black and white films picked up the print usually with an additional fur wrap added, along with diamonds that oozed glamour at a time when the reality of war and rationing was a daily occurrence. The escapism provided by the films & stars has an impact that lasts to this day.

Our appreciation of animal print goes back to our relationship with the animal. It’s irresistible strong and dangerous, it is admired and feared, all of that goes into the print and by association with the women that wear it, it was no coincidence that Diana sent this message instead of a postcard in the swimsuit above.

Leopard getting it right
Leopard print accessories are central to conveying not only an appearance of glamour, a feeling of it. Scarves, sunglasses bags shoes and any other elements you may throw on ( belt, hat gloves) that let you stand apart from the rest. Know your limits don’t clash with prints or wear them all at the same time.

Less is more
it’s so easy to get carried away starting with a print and then adding jewellery sunglasses etc ..don’t complicate or go overboard. A balance of one block colour to start with and add the prints gently.
