Cover girl Chic

I have been called many names over the years….here’s a new one and it’s on the newsstand … I am a “Style Icon” alongside wait for it… Iris Apfel…yes yours truly has become a cover girl at 56.

The theme for the article was Pro Age, I was to be featured with 4 other 50-plus fashionistas in the fashion and style section. Along with the main picture I had chosen a selection of High Street favourites.

Wearing my stunning Zara blouse on the cover & inside, I choose a selection of items on my Winter wardrobe to-want list. The dress from HM is a cosy knitted pull-on style. Perfect with boots in a gorgeous biscuit colour easy to mix with tan or black. The stylish earrings will work day or night…and a stylish dark emerald green tote bag from Dune. The bag has matching ballerina flats, heels & accessories.

The magazine had requested a quotation to be displayed with the feature. I thought long and hard and finally settled on the words below. Under the headline

Iris Apfel the American style icon was featured for her amazing inspiring colourful wardrobe. I was honoured & humbled to be in any article alongside a lady I have admired all my life.

What makes a person a fashion Icon …we all have people we aspire too…look at …possibly reference for styles from haircuts to jewellery. I put together women who inspire me daily all in different ways.

Strong, sassy, sexy, elegant, forward-thinking, feminine…..

From mid-October, you can find me on branded social media sites with a huge shout-out to the brands below for choosing a woman in her mid-50s to feature. We are still out there and yes we are still reverent.
