Fashion that fits
Does anyone else find it difficult to find the right store to buy clothes from? It feels like a game of retail Russian roulette. Recently, I was surprised to receive an email from someone asking if an outfit I had posted was from H&M, because she couldn't locate the jacket.
I could not find the receipt. The jacket was passed to me in the dressing room as the assistant assured me the cut would complement my shape. The fit was perfect with cuff placement that did not require me to roll them.
When I wore the jacket and a high-waisted pencil skirt to a Sunday brunch. I was ecstatic that the skirt looked so stylish and the jacket polished my outfit. However, I was embarrassed to realize that both items were from the children's department. Nonetheless, I was pleasantly surprised that they looked great on me despite being meant for kids.
Shopping can sometimes be a tedious task, but it is essential to achieve great style. Mastering the art of shopping can save time and money, regardless of the department you visit. For instance, at Zara, I usually fall between the sizes of XS and SML, but their clothing length is a significant issue for me. Unfortunately, I can't buy long boho skirts or floor-sweeping dresses there. On the other hand, at Cos, I find that size medium is the most flattering for me, and at Mango, nothing seems to fit me except their shoes.
The stripe tank top I purchased from M&S's girls' department comes with matching shorts. I love adding sunny and punchy colors to my wardrobe to make it more vibrant. It was love at first sight, but given my body shape and limitations, I wouldn't even attempt to try on, let alone wear, the crochet shorts. The cut of the arm holes is the main difference between the two items, which might seem like a small thing, but I'm very aware of it.. a small thing but I’m aware of it.
My style is a unique trait that is difficult to define. It is effortless, simple, and classic, and it reflects who I am as a person. Like fashion, it’s constantly evolving. When it comes to shopping, I prefer to buy based on my needs & preferences. I trust my instincts & try on clothes based on how they feel & not be guided by numbers.
The cropped jacket I am referring to is from the M&S girl’s department and comes in a stone-washed pink colour. I don't have to put too much thought into what I am wearing because my wardrobe is well-suited to my lifestyle needs, which makes the fashion journey so interesting—however, the story of where I bought it from and why is a different one altogether.
