Hallo September

Do you rush into the shops the moment the calendar says it’s Autumn? Your heart is racing, you’ve seen the pre-fall magazine features….in your head, you're already wearing those boots draped in leopard print, smiling through your burgundy lipstick. Hello, it’s 70 degrees...STOP.

Before rushing out to buy the latest seasonal items on the high street, take a moment to pause. Don't impulse shop because sweaters, coats, and boots are hitting the shelves. Magazines, influencers, and social media may be showcasing these new arrivals, but consider whether it's practical to wear them in September when the temperature is still 25 degrees.

I will just wear bare legs and a cashmere cardigan. Whether it's transitional or between seasons, I am determined to wear what's in my wardrobe. As for shoes, that's a different story. I was looking for some kitten heels for Fall and these were perfect. With leopard print set to dominate trends yet again, I intend to style them with everything

Every year, the fall palette features timeless burgundy, beige, and purple hues, paired with cosy chunky knits and stylish faux fur accents. The demand for suede and leather trousers never wanes. The outfit above hits all the right notes, but surprisingly, the clothes are from a summer collection.

Despite it being mid-September, the image above captures a warm afternoon in neutral colours with a fabulous tan. Adding a trench coat or a fabulous pashmina would make it current due to its detailed elements. The leopard print shoes, dark green bag, and dark burgundy nails create a fall palette with end-of-summer clothes.

Boots or slingbacks? Unless you’re a Taylor Swift fan, September is far too early for boots. I love beige and intend to mix and match it throughout autumn. These suede Tod’s slingbacks complement everything. The deep purple blouse, which I picked out that morning only because I wanted to show off my Dior necklace, received so many compliments that it's now at the front of the wardrobe.

I've realized that carrying a high-quality handbag is always fashionable because it's the first thing people notice. Why would I hurry to buy a "trendy" or "it bag" just because everyone else is? This Chanel bag is years old, but it holds so many of my essentials. I'm lost without it.

So before rushing out the door to be the first to be seen in it …or buy boots that will sit in the wardrobe till January …9and by then be untrendy0 I will leave this blog with a quote that sums up my beloved wardrobe of investment and pre-loved favourites.

“Why go out for a burger…..when I have steak at home”
