July Chic

Are you feeling unsure about what to wear in July? From wellingtons to sandals, the options can be overwhelming. Do you find yourself wondering if your knees should be on show, or if white jumpsuits are better left to Elvis? Let's figure out how to dress when July is all shook up.

"Okay, it's not exactly a "mini" dress, but it's over the knee, which I hope is still acceptable at 57 years of age. I've realised beautiful accessories enhance a simple and elegant dress. But is there a certain age at which women should stop wearing shorter dresses?"

One thing to remember is that a shorter skirt with high heels is a no-go. When sitting down, it's no wonder I have my hand clasped to my knee—yikes! I suppose the best accessory is confidence. If it feels right, hold your head up.

Comfy pockets, comfortable flats, and the perfect vintage dress. Taking advantage of the sunshine, a tan is more flattering, but nude stockings would also work.

"This amazing shirt dress from UOOZEE is an A-line cut and unbelievably comfortable. I waited for a day with no chance of the weather blowing away my decency. A fabulous print draws the eyes away from the legs. I will wear it later in the year over cropped white trousers."

Don't let your beautiful jewellery sit in a box. Wear it! Even for simple errands, like shopping, wearing a dazzling pair of earrings can make you feel elegant. Take every chance to complement your outfit, it shows the care you put into your look before leaving the house. Check out the detailed bracelet in the photo below.

Summer bags or baskets get a classic colour like the neutral bamboo style below. I don’t always carry Birkins (really) it’s good to carry something lighter. I was heading out with the dog a practical bag is required. When people ask where I shop if i’m out with Cody it’s finally becoming easier to shop so many shops are becoming dog-friendly at last.

The vintage knitted dress from Massimo Dutti is a wardrobe essential. Its timeless v-neck design makes it perfect for year-round wear. Whether paired with boots or strappy sandals, this dress is a versatile and stylish investment.

Make sure to have your leopard print ready because it's going to be a big trend for A/W 2024. Pair a vintage dress with a Birkin bag for a day in the city. The printed scarf adds interest and is perfect for staying warm when it gets chilly later in the day. Adding a splash of print to a neutral wardrobe always looks stylish.

Ballerina flats for an Audrey Hepburn-inspired look. Pairing the H&M skirt with a swimming costume—why not? My trusty Portobello basket is ready to be packed with as much fruit as possible. One thing I really enjoy in Summer is the abundance of berries, cherries, and tropical fruits available in the market. The prices have almost doubled over the past year, making cherries a very self-indulgent purchase.

These black and pearl earrings are barely visible but very elegant. I've been obsessed with the Elie Beaumont black frames almost every day. I wear them frequently because they are durable and versatile

When I picked out the wide-leg jumpsuit, I hadn't taken into account the extra length or the hems' condition. It's a striking outfit, perfect for hot weather it is 50% linen with stylish shoulder pads. I soon realized that wearing flats was not an option, and navigating any staircase without assistance was not recommended. I adore it.

After adding a fabulous vintage belt and a pair of wedges from The Row, I feel fantastic in this jumpsuit currently on sale at Uoozee. The comfort is so tempting that I'm considering getting it in black as well.

Leaving the final words of wisdom from Elvis. Has anyone ever looked better in a white jumpsuit ??..
