Chilly chic
Instead of reaching for the Spring sandals I find myself back in coats. Were you about to vac- pack Winter clothes…. Don’t
Baby, it’s cold out there
I normally use Easter as the essential date for packing away Winter and deliciously looking forward to linen, lace & slip dresses. Above shopping at Fortnums this Easter, the weather has other ideas.
I found myself reaching for a warmer coat & comfy stretch denim. The shops are full of inspiring tutti fruity palettes..the promises of fun times ahead..but definitely not April.
I almost packed away this sweater thank goodness I didn’t. Huge bulky sweaters & cashmere delicates were piled ready for the vac bags. Why the sudden rush to Summer clothes transition when Spring is far from over?
Warm floaty scarves for those cold mornings make a welcome return the above Tamsy scarf doubled up I wore cape like to keep out the cold. Rain running down sunglasses…yikes
Cold Chic.
Influencer work has many perks: fabulous clothes and the joy of coming home to boxes of shoes. The drawback
when shooting Summer outside …the London weather. Deadlines become panic, wind, rain and no daylight.
Clothes steamed & ironed get wet the blouse above went transparent. Shoes become dirty the soles slippery a nightmare on steps or shooting reels. Puddles & wet pavement are great for boots, not Summer fashions especially open-toe shoes.
Social media expects newness, it demands freshness, popularity & interest. Winter heavies won’t run even in minus conditions. Wearing sprinkles of New Season & pops of Summer colours. Suffering for my fashion takes on a new meaning.
Don’t believe everything you see. Two degrees, thermal vest, hands shaking with cold. The daylight is here because I’m on a hotel roof.
Best foot forward…even though it’s blue with cold
Roll on Summer
