Spring arrives

White denim trousers should be a staple for all wardrobes. Effortless, chic and timeless. Is there a better way to signal the arrival of Spring?

Easy chic

White denim works every time, it bridges the gap between comfort and style. Dressed up with a tuxedo jacket or dressed down with a t-shirt the versatility is never-ending.

I always buy cotton with lycra. I need comfort and I prefer a high waist. Studs, embellishments or tacky hole trends are no longer of interest.

There are so many variations and different ways to wear white denim. This Spring I am wearing mine detailed below. I have 5 pairs all various styles. From weekends out or early visits to the beach …effortless chic made simple.

Stripe

Mirror that fresh Spring feeling with a nod to nautical glamour.

Wearing M&S denim. A nautical look inspired by the coat. I love wearing stripes. This look works well together because the colours are all in the bag. Blue, Grey and white. If in doubt keep the bottom half neutral.

Red stripe.

Wide cropped swing pants from Gap. Ideal for showing off my Vivaia sneakers. Pops of colour from the bag and extra detail or points of interest are provided by the gold buttons on the coat.

Chic Spring styling

Loose turn up.

These drawstring jeans are from Zara men. I buy from the kid’s department as well. If it fits and looks good why not.

In the detail.

A traditional pinstripe shirt (again mens ) but look at the details to lift this look for a more chic style.

Finishing touches.

At first glance, you may not notice. But a lot of thought went into this look. The Henri Bendel bracelet and vintage ring were added to match the blue pinstripe. A tan bag with a chunky gold strap worn to compliment the six gold buttons. Again neutral heels but sandals esp in gold would work.

Skinny ankle

I love this look. It’s so easy, only two colours. I’m heading for lunch the heels take the look to another level.

Uniqlo jeans.

I wear white jeans as a foundation. It works with all combinations. The look above a casual Saturday with a thick Zara knit. The white pumps look fresh and interesting.

Add animal print.

Keep it clean and simple. This look was my most popular white denim look. The freshness of a white basic look is vamped up by a Zara leopard print jacket. The attention to detail is in the accessories. Black shoes and nail varnish mixes with a vintage bag from Bloomingdales. The same tan belt as before which actually belonged to my father.

Star style.

Ines De La Fressange.

The French model has finished her 17th year collaborating with Uniqlo. The jeans I’m wearing in the very top picture are from the new collection. Perfect cut and a good investment.

Rosie H W.

Four different cuts but all worn neutral on top.

Capri or cropped.

Flash those ankles in the evening with “notice me heels” or flashy flats. Add a jacket and knot a pashmina your good to go.

White jeans work well for all seasons. Easy to dress up with jewellery esp gold. There is a style for everyone. What are you waiting for ?
